Overview The ongoing protests of 2014 marked a milestone of Hong Kong political history. Contrary to the mainstream narrative which views the city merely as an international finance and trading hub, Hong Kong has a long history of mass political participation. This course aims to examine the political movements of Hong Kong in 20th century and examine how it was affected by international politics.
