SLAA is committed to making its courses accessible to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. In addition to setting its fees significantly below market rate, SLAA has granted full or partial fee remission to financially disadvantaged students since its inception. In the summer 2013 intake, around 16-22% of our secondary school students were awarded full fee remission. There is no limit on the number of students who can receive fee remission, and ability to pay is not a factor in our admission decision.
Students apply for fee remission by stating so in the application form. If admitted to a course, the student will then be asked to submit proof of financial hardship. Usually, proof that a student is a recipient of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) or other forms of financial assistance provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) will suffice.
