Activity Introduction “Fai Chun” (Spring Couplets) is the symbol of luck and blessing in Chinese Lunar New Year. During this festival, most of the families in the Chinese community will paste Spring Couplets on walls in order to have blessing and luck. Further to the movie screening of “Xuan Zang” on 10 December, the Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) and Savantas Liberal Arts Academy (SLAA) invite the audience to take part in the Movie Review Competition. Participants are welcome to submit an article (about 100 words in Chinese or 150 words in English) of their feedback on the film “Xuan Zang” by 13 December. The Savantas Liberal Arts Academy and the Maritime Silk Road Society are organizing a guided tour on “Across the Oceans: the Local Connections and Global Dimensions of China’s Maritime Silk Road”. Featuring the cultural relics from eight Maritime Silk Road cities (including Penglai, Yangzhou, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Guangzhou, and Beihai) and Hong Kong, the exhibition elaborates on the roles and functions each had as they grew and prospered on the Maritime Silk Road. The exhibition also reflects on the impact and contributions of the Maritime Silk Road on the development of the world’s civilisations. > Details
