Overview
This is an eight-week liberal studies program catering for senior secondary school students. The program curriculum is similar to courses taught in a typical U.S. university freshman year’s general education program. The program consists of eight lectures on various liberal arts subjects, such as politics, international relations, Chinese social history and etc. Upon completion of this program, students are expected to compose a short English essay and gain deeper understandings in the different social and historical subjects.

Language
The language of instruction will be Chinese (Cantonese). English and Chinese (Mandarin) will also be used as the language of instruction as appropriate.
Make-up Classes
There will be no make-up classes. If you miss a class, we recommend that you either e-mail us or ask your fellow classmates for lecture notes.
Requirements
Students are expected to compose a short essay (~500 words) and requested to attend minimum of 6 (out of 8) lectures.
Homework / exam will be based on course lectures and readings. We will occasionally post student’s article on our facebook fan page and/or our Sing Pao’s column, if we find the individual’s article to be well-thought out, well-composed and interesting to the audience. You are always welcomed to submit additional assignments for posting.
