Overview
This is a 10 weeks liberal studies program catering for senior secondary school students. The program‟s curriculum would be similar to courses taught in a typical United States‟ university freshman year‟s general education program. Subjects taught would also follow 4 of the 6 Liberal Studies modules listed in the New Secondary School Liberal Studies Curriculum (See http://ls.edb.hkedcity.net/Home/Index.aspx). Upon completion of this program, students are expected to compose a short English essay and gain deeper understandings in the different social and historical subjects.
Prerequisite
Previous enrollment in Summer Program for Secondary School Students, Liberal Studies Program for Secondary School Students, or permission to enroll from the academy

Language
The language of instruction will be Chinese (Cantonese). English and Chinese (Mandarin) will also be used as
the language of instruction as appropriate.
Make-up Class
There will be no make-up class. If you miss a class, we recommend that you either e-mail or ask your fellow
classmates for lecture notes.
Requirements & Grading
Grade will be based on a 600 – 800 words essay (50%), essay draft (30%) and participating in discussion (20%).
Although attendance is not “mandatory”, you are strongly recommended to attend all classes.
