Copperplate Calligraphy Workshop (銅版體西洋書法課程)

Time: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm


Venue: 23/F, Yam Tze Commercial Building, 23 Thomson Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.


Course Introduction:


  1. Copperplate, a commonly used name to describe the English Roundhand from the 16th century, is characterised by an open flowing hand and contrasts of thick and thin strokes derived from the metal pointed nib.
  2. There is a surge of interest in calligraphy in recent years, particularly with this font as it has a wide appeal in wedding invitations, place cards and greeting cards.
  3. This series of workshop will introduce basic strokes, lowercase and uppercase alphabets of the Copperplate font as well as connecting them to make words and sentences.



Instructor:


Ms. Kaye Shu is a full time calligrapher in Hong Kong. Penmanship and subsequently calligraphy were never far from Kaye’s realm since young. After years of working in the arts and luxury retail world, she became a full time calligrapher, holding workshops to inspire the artists in all of us as well as to provide calligraphy service for brands and privates; clients include brands such as Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Rolex, Prada, Gucci etc.

$2000 (including $200 deposit which will be refunded with attendance rate of 80% or above)
