Class B: 8 January 2018—12 February 2018 (every Monday)

Time:  7:00PM – 8:30PM (6 lessons in total)


Overview

To celebrate Chinese New Year, in six weeks students can learn to write Fai Chun for decoration and Chinese Calligraphy techniques and culture at an elementary level. Students from all backgrounds are welcome to join.


Instructor

Ms. Edith Chu Siu Han

Vice Chairperson of the Psychic Image Calligraphy Society

Diploma in Chinese Calligraphy (with Distinction) from the School of Professional and Continuing Education, The University of Hong Kong.

Ms. Chu has learnt Chinese calligraphy from Mr. Lee Yuk Ming since 1992. Her works have been exhibited in Macau and Hong Kong, and have won several awards in open competitions. The most recent award is the Excellence Award in “Bauing Cup” International Painting, Calligraphy and Seal Innovation Competition in 2015.

Materials and Tools

Please prepare the following materials and tools for the lessons:

1. Brush

2. Calligraphy mat

3. Brush wrapper

4. Copybook sheets

5. Ink

6. Palette

7. Paperweight

8. Brush holder

Students shall bring item 1 to 8 on their own. There is no fee remission for materials and tools.


Tuition

The tuition fee is $600 for the entire program. In addition, there is a $20 surcharge for purchasing approx. 20 pieces of Fai Chun Paper and a $200 deposit, which will be returned to students with an 80%+ attendance rate (attending 5 lessons out of 6) at the end of the program. A total of $820 will be used to reserve a place in the course. Tuition fee and deposit are due a week after students are accepted into the program or before the first class, whichever comes first, to reserve a place in the class. Cash and cheques are welcome (payable to: Savantas Liberal Arts Academy)
