2017 Spring/Summer: Chinese Calligraphy Course

Time:  7:00PM – 8:30PM (10 lessons in total)


Overview

Through clerical scripts, this course will introduce Chinese Calligraphy and its techniques at an elementary level. Students from all backgrounds are welcome to join.


Instructor

Ms. Edith Chu Siu Han

Vice Chairperson of the Psychic Image Calligraphy Society

Diploma in Chinese Calligraphy (with Distinction) from the School of Professional and Continuing Education, The University of Hong Kong.

Ms. Chu has learnt Chinese calligraphy from Mr. Lee Yuk Ming since 1992. Her works have been exhibited in Macau and Hong Kong, and have won several awards in open competitions. The most recent award is the Excellence Award in “Bauing Cup” International Painting, Calligraphy and Seal Innovation Competition in 2015.

Materials and Tools

Please prepare the following materials and tools for the lessons:

1. Brush

2. Copybook(《乙瑛碑》)

3. Calligraphy mat

4. Brush wrapper

5. Copybook sheets

6. Ink

7. Palette

8. Paperweight

9. Brush holder

Students shall bring along their own course materials and tools. There is no fee remission for materials and tools.


Tuition

The tuition fee is $1000 for the entire program. In addition, there is a $200 deposit, which will be returned to students with an 80%+ attendance rate at the end of the program. The total of $1200 will be used to reserve a place in the course.
