Overview
This course will introduce the basic knowledge and techniques of Chinese calligraphy through the clerical script.
Instructor
Ms. Edith Chu Siu Han
Vice Chairperson of the Psychic Image Calligraphy Society
Diploma in Chinese Calligraphy (with Distinction) from the School of Professional and Continuing Education, The University of Hong Kong
Ms. Chu has learnt Chinese calligraphy from Mr. Lee Yuk Ming since 1992. Her works has been exhibited in Macau and Hong Kong, and has won several awards in open competitions. The most recent award is the Excellence Award in “Bauing Cup” International Painting, Calligraphy and Seal Innovation Competition in 2015.

Tuition
The tuition fee is $1000 for the entire program. In addition, there is a $200 deposit, which will be returned to students with an 80%+ attendance rate at the end of the program. The total of $1200 will be used to reserve a place in the course.

Materials and Tools
Students need to bring along the following materials and tools to class:
1. Ink brush (mixed hair)
2. Template Chart (The Stele of Yi Ying)
3. Desk pad
4. Bamboo roll-up brush holder
5. Gridded papers
6. Ink
7. Small dish (3-4 inch sauce plate)
8. Paperweight
9. Brush rest
For items 1-5, students can either bring their own or purchase them from the instructor ($110). For items 6-9, students need to bring their own tools. If you would like to purchase items 1-5 from the instructor, please indicate accordingly on the application form and pay on the first lesson. There is no fee remission for course material fee.
